Members Directory

CEW members are leaders across diverse sectors in Australia, including government, business, sport, academia, the arts, and the not-for-profit sector.

Our members share a unifying goal: to remove systemic barriers and create pipelines that enable Australian women to rise to leadership positions in their communities. This ensures a diversity of women's voices at every decision-making table while supporting both women and men to thrive—at work and home.

Jas Chambers
I work at the intersection of nature (with a focus on ocean) science, business and government. I bring together people from across sectors to have good conversations and harmonise governance. I have worked in the Australian higher education and government in senior leadership roles across the STEM sector including operations, strategy, communications and international science diplomacy including with United Nations Specialized Agencies and the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, representing Australia. In 2021 I co-founded and now Chair Ocean Decade Australia - an NGO that connects Australia's Ocean Stakeholders, galvanised by the United Nations declared Ocean Decade 2021 - 2030 and the Ocean Panel of which Australia's Prime Minister is a member. As a country Victorian who grew up on the Murray River, and of Australian-Tongan heritage, I have directed my career to accelerate positive change in Australia and the Pacific being acutely aware that good governance, education, research and the development of new knowledge contributes to democracy and prosperity that serves communities. These things require linking up and connecting diverse perspectives, and this is core to the way I lead. I am the Director and Principal of Provenance Consulting - a strategic advisory business, and serve as Vice-President to Science & Technology Australia and Board Chair of the Sydney Institute for Marine Science Foundation. I am delighted to co-convene Women in Science and Technology luncheons, dedicated to bringing women together to share stories and promote generous, reciprocal advocacy.
