Jennifer Lang

Jennifer Lang is an Actuary, Data Scientist and Non-Executive Director. An experienced Director, Jennifer is involved in organisations where using data to inform strategy is central to the institution. Jennifer is an experienced chair of Board Committees and chairs the Audit and/or Risk Committee on all her Boards. Jennifer has substantial financial and risk management capability, and extensive experience in all aspects of insurance, including executive roles in life and general insurance, where she provided financial and project oversight. Jennifer has extensive experience in the development, integration and strategic use of large datasets, and is a thought leader in using data to inform policy and understanding, writing about mortality, demography and actuarial insights at www.actuarialeye.com, leading the Actuaries Institute Covid19 response and being part of the Actuaries Climate Risk working group, which led to her being awarded 2020 Actuary of the Year. In her executive career, Jennifer was an experienced CFO with more than 10 years of experience reporting to Boards and Board Committees, complemented by 25 years’ experience as both a corporate executive and partner in two Big Four audit firms. As well as all aspects of the CFO role, she is experienced in oversight and development of data science teams, financial and operational oversight of large strategic projects, risk functions for market, insurance and other financial risks, and pricing with statistical insight.
