Jo McConnell
Jo McConnell is an experienced and versatile executive, with significant leadership credentials at the most senior levels in listed, unlisted, for-purpose and consulting environments. Her career to date has centred on creating positive change, for the organisations she has worked in, the stakeholders they serve and the people she leads. Currently Jo leads Accenture’s CEO Transformation practice for Growth Markets (AAPAC, Africa, Middle East) and partners with Boards, CEOs and C-suite leaders to help them navigate the myriad of complex challenges facing organisations today. Jo’s 14 years of being in C-suite roles in large organisations allows a pragmatic and differentiated perspective for Accenture’s clients. Jo spent the first 20yrs of her career at BHP, working across the world and commodity groups in a variety of HR and M&A roles. Jo was part of the team who established the South32 business, and was their inaugural Chief People Officer, leading the business through a demerger and listing to create one of the world’s largest mining companies. In this portfolio she had accountability for the People, Corporate Affairs and Community. Following South32, Jo joined Latitude Financial following the sale from GE to private equity ownership. Over 4 years as the Chief People Officer, Jo was accountable for transforming the culture, capability, cost base, operating model and brand along with creating the ability to operate as a listed entity, via an IPO. Following Latitude Financial, Jo joined AusNet as their Chief People, Sustainability and Transformation Officer, leading the business eventually through a successful sale to Brookfield, which generated material shareholder value. Jo currently sits on the Board of the Jean Hailes Foundation and was previously a voluntary CEO for a girls education charity in Zimbabwe.
