Kasy Chambers
Originally from the United Kingdom Kasy has worked in a variety of hands-on frontline positions in social services in both Britain and Australia covering areas such as homelessness, drugs and alcohol, disability and mental health. Since gaining her first CEO role before the age of 30 she has led small and large charities in pursuit of their Mission, including the women’s organisation, the YWCA of Canberra. She spent three years in the Senior Executive Service of the Federal government before returning to her passion – the charity sector. In her current role she is influential in the areas of social and economic policy at the federal level through her role with Anglicare Australia, and enjoys the ability to create nationally important research and evidence to assist with a progressive policy agenda supporting both communities and individuals. She is a passionate advocate for the charitable sector noting its capacity to not only offer services to people in times of need, but to develop leadership throughout communities. She was named one of the Canberra’s top 100 most influential women. She holds an Honours degree in Psychology, an MBA and a post graduate qualification in Ethics. She is an active volunteer in her own community including currently with her Running club and the National Sheep-Dog Trials; and has been an active member of the rural fire service as a Remote Area Fire Team crew member for over 15 years. When not at work her hobbies include kayaking, hiking, camping and piloting a recreational aircraft.
