Kate Farrar

Kate Farrar is the CEO of Brighter Super, having grown the fund from $10bn to $30bn by merging LGIAsuper and Energy Super, and acquiring Suncorp Super. Prior to joining LGIAsuper Kate was a Junior Partner at McKinsey working with global clients. Kate has spent most of her career in Energy and Financial Services having held senior executive roles including Managing Director of QEnergy, and Chief Operating Officer of Ergon Energy's Powerdirect Australia business, growing it to become one of Australia's top five energy retailers. In 2007 Kate led the sale of Powerdirect to AGL for $1.2bn. Kate has also served as Non-Executive Director with Seven Group Holdings, Mater Health Services and UnityWater, and as chairman of the Boards of the Queensland Music Festival and the Energy Retailers Association of Australia. In 2006 Kate won Queensland Business Review's Public Sector 'Women in Business' award and was a Queensland finalist in the Hudson Community and Government Award category of the Telstra Business Women's Awards. In 2015 Kate was awarded a CEW Scholarship to attend the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD Fontainebleau.
