Kate Jordan

Kate Jordan is General Counsel and Executive General Manager, Company Secretary, Risk and Governance at Origin Energy. Previously Deputy Chief Executive Partner of Clayton Utz, one of Australia's leading law firms and consistently ranked as amongst the most prestigious firms in the Asia-Pacific region. Kate is an important part of the leadership team. As one of the firm's two Deputy Chief Executive Partners (with responsibility for People and Development) and Sydney office Managing Partner, Kate has significant legal experience in mergers and acquisitions in the Financial Services, Media, Telecommunications and Technology sectors, all growth areas for the firm. She is recognised as a leading lawyer in Best Lawyers in Australia in Media, Telecommunications and M&A, and is ranked in the Asia Pacific Legal500 in Telecommunications, Media and Technology. Kate has been with Clayton Utz for 20 years. In 2012, Kate was elevated to Partner in Charge of the Sydney Office and then to Deputy Chief Executive Partner in 2014. In 2014 she also joined the board of the Clayton Utz Foundation. Kate is responsible for Clayton Utz's social responsibility programs, which include the firm's renowned pro bono program. Clayton Utz is the only law firm outside the United States to achieve 500,000 pro bono hours. Kate is committed to increasing female representation in leadership positions within the firm. She is a member of the Clayton Utz Diversity Committee and as Deputy Chief Executive Partner is driving the firm's gender diversity initiatives to ensure that the firm reaches its target of 35% women partners. Clayton Utz has also earned a Workplace Gender Equality Agency's Employer of Choice citation.
