Kate McKenzie

Kate McKenzie was appointed Chief Executive of Chorus in 2016. And resigned at the end of 2019.Before becoming Chorus' Chief Executive, Kate was Chief Operating Officer of Telstra, Australia's largest telecommunications company. She joined Telstra in 2004 holding a range of senior executive roles in strategy, marketing, products, regulatory and wholesale. Kate served as Director General of the NSW Department of Commerce. She also served as Director General of the NSW Department of Industrial Relations, General Manager of the WorkCover Authority of NSW, and Deputy Director General of the NSW Cabinet Office. During her career, she has been involved in the development and implementation of competition policy, energy reform, corporatisation and Privatisation and Commonwealth/State negotiations on a range of complex policy issues. Current directorships include nbnco. Stockland, AMP and Healius. She was formerly a Director of FOXTEL and Allianz Australia and she has been a Director of Sydney Water and the Rail Corporation of New South Wales.
