Kathrina Lo

Kathrina Lo

Kathrina Lo is the NSW Public Service Commissioner. She is responsible for leading workforce strategy, reform and programs for the NSW public sector, which is the largest employer in the southern hemisphere with more than 400,000 employees.


Kathrina has extensive public sector experience with both state and federal governments. Prior to Kathrina’s appointment as Public Service Commissioner, she was a Deputy Secretary at the NSW Department of Communities and Justice. She has also held senior executive roles at the Audit Office of New South Wales, NSW Information and Privacy Commission and Juvenile Justice NSW.


Kathrina is currently a non-executive director of the Australia and New Zealand School of Government and a member of the UTS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Industry Advisory Board.


Previously, Kathrina was a non-executive director of Law Courts Limited; a member of the United Nations Expert Group on civil registration and identity management; a member of the Australian Institute of Criminology’s Research Advisory Council; a member of the NSW Crime Commission’s Management Board; and a member of the NSW Government’s Youth Justice Advisory Council.


Kathrina has a Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Laws, Master of Laws and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. She is admitted as a Legal Practitioner in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and holds a current practising certificate.
