Kristie Keast
Ms Keast was appointed Chief People Officer on 8 April 2019. She is responsible for health, safety and environment, remuneration and benefits, corporate affairs, social impact and inclusion and organisation capability and performance. In addition to these responsibilities, in August 2021 Ms Keast assumed the role of Chief Executive North American Development, to oversee the Company’s expansion opportunities and realise synergies across our North American businesses. Ms Keast has over 20 years’ experience working in OH&S across a range of industries and geographic regions. Her strengths are in change management and leading integration activities in newly acquired businesses and joint ventures, driving cultural change at all levels. She started her career at BlueScope (BHP) in 1994 in Stevedoring and Chartering operations, and in 2001 was appointed National HSE Manager in the Market, Logistics & Solutions team. She has held senior business safety roles in Australia and the US. In 2014 she moved into an expanded role as Vice President Organisation Capability, and from 2016 held the role of General Manager People Australian Steel Products, where her strategic direction led to greater diversity and engagement in that business. Ms Keast is a member of Australian HR Institute of Australia and the Safety Institute of Australia, and is a Board member of the Sports Access Foundation for children with a disability.
