Leona Murphy

Leona Murphy is an experienced executive with over 20 years experience in financial services at both strategic and operational levels. She has a unique set of skills that represent the intersection of organisational transformation, strategy and culture, combined with extensive business and leadership experience. Leona has been recognised as one of Australia's 100 Women of Influence for 2015 in the Global category. As Chief Strategy Officer, Leona is reponsible for the development and governance of IAG's corporate strategy and shared value strategy, leading IAG's transformation program, implementing the new strategy and operating model and integrating the former Wesfarmers Insurance business. She is also responsible for innovation and new business development and incubation capability, IAG Ventures and Group People and Culture. Leona is Co Chair of the Board for the United Nations Environmental Programme's Finance Iniative for the Principles for Sustainable Insurance, responsible for the global governance and implementation of the Principles. In addition, she is a member of the Business Advisory Council for World Vision Australia and a director of the Australia Insurance Association. Her career has included work across all aspects of general insurance in both functional and business leadership roles with responsibility for corporate strategy, business profit/loss, risk management and governance, people and culture, technology, and business operations. During her time at IAG, Leona has held a number of executive leadership positions, including Chief Strategy Officer. Before joining IAG, she held executive roles at Promina and Vero Insurance
