Linda Apelt

Ms Apelt is a business and community leader with a wealth of international senior leadership experience as a diplomat, Trade and Investment Commissioner, Director- General and non-executive Director.
Linda Apelt’s most recent senior appointment was the first female Agent-General for Queensland, Australia, in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the Queensland Trade and Investment Commissioner, Europe and sub-Sahara Africa, July 2017 until December 2021.Priorities included leading high level European and UK investor engagement with the Queensland Government Hydrogen and New Mineral Economy Industry strategies. Liaison with the Royal Households, Houses of Lords and Commons, Commonwealth of Nations, Embassies in the UK, France, Netherlands and Germany were also key priorities.
As a former long serving, Director-General with the State Government of Queensland, Australia, Ms Apelt oversaw enhanced service delivery in a range of portfolios including education, housing, health, justice and community services, Indigenous policy and the arts.
Ms Apelt has been a non-Executive Company Director on independent boards spanning superannuation, urban planning and research, housing and homelessness, health and welfare, children's and disability services, State Library services, Screen Queensland and the Association of Economic Representatives in London (AERL). Linda Apelt is Chair of Opera Queensland and a member of the Griffith University Council.
