Elizabeth Kumaru
Elizabeth is Head of Private Corporate Assets for Australian Retirement Trust. Elizabeth is responsible for managing the strategy and implementation of the private equity, private credit and alternative strategy asset classes. Responsibilities include portfolio construction, investment research and selection, and the investment in and ongoing management of direct, co-investment and fund assets in Australia and offshore.
Elizabeth has over 25 years experience in investment management and financial markets. Prior to her current role she was the Head of Funds Management, QSuper where she was responsible for managing QSuper's investments with external service providers, implementing investment policy decisions and structuring potential investments to benefit members across all asset classes, including private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real estate, alternative assets. Elizabeth joined QSuper as Senior Portfolio Manager and was one of the founding QSuper investment team members, joining in May 2009 when QSuper internalised the investment function. Before joining QSuper, she worked for institutional fund manager QIC, where she served as senior portfolio manager of international equities, and senior portfolio manager of alpha investments. Elizabeth previously worked with the Australian Stock Exchange as a financial analyst and at Bankers Trust as an equity derivatives trader.
Elizabeth has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mathematics from the Queensland University of Technology and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. She has been an independent investment expert member of the Queensland University of Technology Investment and Borrowings Committee.
