Liz McNamara

Elizabeth has 25 years’ experience delivering outcomes at times of change and crisis across large public service and ASX listed organisations spanning transport, investment banking, FMCG, energy and mining, most with international footprints.


Currently leading Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at AGL, Elizabeth continues her long-proven track record of leading the creation and execution of reputation, trust-based strategies that deliver organisational imperatives in complex operating environments. For the last 15 years Elizabeth has held corporate affairs leadership roles within ASX listed, high profile and multifaceted organisations. Across issues including energy market decarbonisation, plastic waste/packaging, and resource industry development, Elizabeth has navigated regulatory scrutiny, legislative reform and public debate to position corporations as leaders in their fields. To each Elizabeth has brought a unique blend of stakeholder capability, strategic thinking and commercial acumen developed through her early career working outside corporate affairs in government and investment banking.


Prior AGL, Elizabeth was Group Director, Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability for Coca-Cola Amatil, and previously held various leadership roles in the resources industry including Head of Corporate Affairs at South32 Ltd and Vice President, Corporate Affairs at BHP.


Prior to specialising corporate affairs, Elizabeth was Deputy Director General, NSW Ministry of Transport (now Transport NSW) with responsibility for transport reform, regulatory framework, policy and planning for the infrastructure and consumer products of the NSW transport sector.


Elizabeth is a Non-Executive Director of the St Vincent de Paul Society, NSW.


Elizabeth has a Bachelor of Economics (Hons), Sydney University, a Graduate Certificate in Sustainability, Cambridge University, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
