Lucy Steed
Lucy is an entrepreneur and senior investment professional with 25 years industry experience including co-founding an investment management firm and working at leading fund managers, investment banks and management consulting firms in Sydney, London and New York. Lucy has developed a reputation as a leader in her field given her extensive experience in funds management including raising start-up capital, setting up a funds management business, running business and product P&Ls, managing teams and leading innovation, business transformation and product development strategies. Lucy also has established herself as a thought leader in areas such as impact and responsible investing and gender equality and regularly speaks in the media and at large conferences. Lucy’s achievements include being recognised in The Australian’s top 100 Green Power Players list, securing private equity capital for her idea to take impact investing mainstream in Australian equities and building an award-winning funds management firm that has been internationally and domestically recognised as a leader in Responsible Investing. The Melior Australian Impact Fund which Lucy developed has also achieved top quartile returns against mainstream peers and is the first Australian equities fund to apply a gender lens to its investment process. In previous roles, Lucy has also developed first to market digital offerings and award-winning investment products. Lucy holds a Master of Commerce and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney. She is a 2013 graduate of the Chief Executive Women's Leadership Program and a 2016 graduate of the Australian Company Directors Course. Lucy is also on the Foundation Board of St Catherine’s School.
