Marika Calfas

Marika Calfas
Marika Calfas is the Chief Executive Officer of NSW Ports, the private sector organisation responsible for managing the ports of Botany and Kembla and intermodal terminals at Cooks River and Enfield. She was appointed to this role in December 2015 from her prior role of Executive General Manager Strategy, Planning & Infrastructure at NSW Ports. Marika has over 15 years' experience in the port sector across a broad range of portfolio areas including strategic planning, infrastructure, environmental management and property. Marika has been with NSW Ports from its inception in June 2013, following on from her previous roles at Sydney Ports Corporation. Marika came to the port sector from consulting engineering, where she was a Senior Engineer with Sinclair Knight Merz. Marika is a Board member of Ports Australia, Australian Logistics Council and PIANC Australia (the International Waterborne Industry Association), as well as Australia's representative to PIANC's International Environmental Commission. Marika has a Masters in Environmental Law from the University of Sydney, a Masters in Engineering Management from the University of Technology Sydney and a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering from the University of New South Wales. She is also a Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia.
