Megan Rutter
Megan brings over 25 years’ experience as a HR executive across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. As one of Westpac’s General Managers of HR, Megan has an extensive and diverse portfolio managing the Westpac Groups Employee Relations, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Indigenous Strategy and Engagement, Workforce Design, HR Transformation, and HR Technology/Data. Megan started as a Graduate at Carter Holt Harvey in New Zealand before moving to the UK where she worked with telecommunications provider O2. On her return to New Zealand in 2008, Megan joined Westpac where she was Head of People for the Retail Bank. Megan was then invited to move to Australia to take the role of Human Resources Director for the Group’s biggest division – Retail & Business Banking. Since that time Megan has been responsible for supporting many Westpac Business Units and in 2020, Megan was promoted to her current role. Megan holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Otago and has completed the Global General Manager Program at Insead (Fontainebleau).
