Melanie Sanders

Partner and Head of Consumer Products and Retail Practice for Australia and New Zealand, Head of the Melbourne Office Melanie Sanders is a Partner with Bain & Company, one of the world's leading premium management consulting firms, based in Melbourne where she is the Office Head. She also leads Bain's Consumer Products and Retail practice for Australia and New Zealand. She works as an advisor to CEOs and Boards on competitive strategy and maximising enterprise value, with specific expertise in developing and implementing customer-led growth strategies. Melanie joined Bain in 2006, and has held a number of senior governance positions within the company outside Australia and New Zealand. From 2009 to 2012 she led the Customer Strategy and Marketing practice for Asia Pacific and sat on Bain's Asia Pacific Operating Committee. Prior to joining Bain, Melanie consulted for A T Kearney and Deloitte. Melanie is a passionate advocate of gender diversity and an acknowledged thought leader in increasing the representation of women at senior levels in Australian organisations. She has personally led breakthrough research on gender diversity research in Australia and has co-authored multiple reports on this topic in the Australian context, in collaboration with Chief Executive Women. Melanie has also led Bain's gender diversity programs (Women at Bain) for Australia and the Asia Pacific region and has been a member of Bain's Global Women's Leadership Council.
