Monika Tu

Monika Tu immigrated to Australia from Shenzhen in China in 1988 as an international student looking for a better education. After graduating in 1992, she moved to Sydney and began working at a computer shop in Paddy's Markets, selling floppy disks, CDs, and electronics and over the next 15 years grew into a multinational electronics firm known as Laser Corporation.In 2009, Ms Tu founded Black Diamondz Group, a full-service property concierge agency that helps new Chinese migrants settle into Australia. From finding a new home to finding the right school for their children and assisting her clients settle into their new country by introducing them to the people within their new communities and key people across the board. She has a deep commitment to helping both Chinese and Australians connect with each other with an East meets West approach.Her philanthropic efforts focus on the advancement of women and children's health. She is a founding patron of the Global Women Leaders for Red Cross and was involved in the Australian Red Cross Society of Women Leaders, helping to contribute $162,000 to the Australian Red Cross Young Parents Program in 2015-16 and has contributed more than $300,000 to date. She is currently a proud ambassador for the Children's Cancer Institute's CEO Dare to Cure. She is also passionately committed to the Arts as an Honorary Ambassador of the Museum of Contemporary Art and works tirelessly to bring more people into the fold at the MCA each year.
