Samantha Lewis

Sam Lewis is a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit and Compliance Committees of two ASX100 companies, rail freight company Aurizon, and packaging products company, Orora. Her appointment to these Boards came shortly after completing 14 years as an Assurance and Advisory partner at Deloitte.
Sam is a specialist in risk, corporate governance and Board and Audit Committee communications. She has significant financial experience, including auditing financial statements, reporting to Audit and Risk Committees, participating in and reporting to Due Diligence Committees for IPOs, and debt and equity raisings. Her rare skill set balances technical expertise with commercial pragmatism and a willingness to challenge.
At Deloitte, Sam was responsible for the audit of a wide range of clients, with a particular focus on listed and multinational entities in the consumer, manufacturing and energy sectors. She was the audit partner on a number of large, complex audit clients, including Woolworths, Boart Longyear, CSR, Lion Nathan, Dyno Nobel, Australian Pipeline Group and Snowy Hydro. As well as dealing with and resolving technical issues on these clients, Sam provided accounting advisory services to other major organisations.
Sam has always been a champion for female professionals on how to balance a career with family life, and has helped create a meaningful flow-through of talented women professionals at Deloitte who may have otherwise missed opportunities for leadership.
