Samantha Mark
Samantha Mark leads the firm's Australia office and the Leadership Advisory Services and Human Resources Practice in Australia, while also a member of the global Financial Services Practice. She advises boards and chief executive officers on the capabilities of their teams using her expertise in CEO succession, assessment methodologies, leadership development and coaching. Samantha also brings more than 30 years of experience in financial services and professional services, where she held leadership roles in strategic development and corporate advisory, including mergers and acquisitions, financial management and leadership advisory. Firsthand industry experience » Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Samantha held numerous leadership positions with DBS Banking Group. She served as the managing director and country chief operating officer for DBS Banking Group in Singapore, where she focused on driving leadership, employee engagement and customer service programs across the organization, providing strategy guidance and business planning to the Singapore CEO and established and co-led the organization’s innovation office. » During her tenure with DBS Banking Group, Samantha also was the head of human resources for 13 countries spanning Singapore, Southeast Asia and overseas locations, where she focused on the talent acquisition, onboarding, assessment and development programs across the region, particularly at the senior levels of the organization. In addition, she held several positions within the bank in finance, corporate planning and consumer banking. » Samantha also worked with Colonial Limited in Australia and Ferrier Hodgson Chartered Accountants, where her focus was on strategic planning, corporate restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions. Samantha graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Melbourne and an executive M.B.A. from the Australian Graduate School of Management. She is a qualified chartered accountant. She also holds a master’s degree in counseling from Monash University and has completed the Columbia Coaching Certification Program offered by Columbia Business School/Teachers College. Samantha has been an active volunteer in the community as a part-time counselor with Singapore Management University’s Centre for Counseling and Guidance and was also on the board of YWCA Singapore. She has also been a recipient of Spencer Stuart's Lou Rieger Quality Award.
