Susan Hodgkinson

Susan has over 30 years’ experience in financial services, specialising in Credit Risk, Credit Assurance, Agribusiness, Business Banking, Corporate Bank and Insolvency in Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Asia and Europe. Susan joined Westpac as the Group Chief Credit Officer (GCCO) in September 2021 and in October 2022 was appointed as the Deputy Chief Credit Officer (CRO). Prior to Westpac, Susan had over 16 years’ experience at Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) and was a long-standing member of the Risk Leadership Team reporting to the Chief Risk Officer. Susan held a variety of roles including Group General Manager of Lending Services overseeing and managing high risk wholesale customers through the Pandemic and responding to the Royal Commission (2017-2019) requirements. Susan also established Group Credit Assurance, a team which was responsible for conducting high quality credit reviews of customers across the breadth of ANZ’s 34 country presence. Susan also has extensive experience in Royal Commissions, Insolvency and investigation appointments with a combined 15 years with Ferrier Hodgson (now merged with KPMG) and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Susan is passionate about the changing face of Risk in the Financial Services industry and being a part of the cultural and structural change required. Susan is also passionate about supporting women in the industry. Susan is a Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants for 26 years. She is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
