Susan Donnelly

Sue was appointed Executive Director of Belvoir in 2017, having first worked at the company as General Manager from 2004-2006during the time of its capital redevelopment. Previous to this, Sue was Executive Director of Queensland Theatre for six years, and Executive Director of the national lobbying and advocacy organisation Australian Major Performing Arts Group (AMPAG). In these three positions Sue was required to rejuvenate the businesses and make them sustainable. Sue has held a diverse range of senior executive positions including Director of UNSW Foundation, Director,South East Arts (UK), Public Affairs Manager for Sydney Symphony, Director of Arts Development, Arts NSWand Assistant Commissioner of Health Care Complaints Commission.She has also consulted and lectured in arts business development and management, and served on wide-ranging Government advisoryboards, funding committees and tribunals, as well as the boards of numerous arts and not-for-profit companiesincluding Chunky Move, Performance Space, de Quincey Company andPAC Australia. Sue holds a Master of Social Work with Merit and a Bachelor of Social Studies from the University ofSydney, is an alumnus ofthe Asialink Leaders’ program and a member of Live PerformanceAustralia’s Executive Council, and theirDigital Working GroupandWorkplace Relations Committee.Witha strong commitment to social justice and empowering women and emerging leaders, Suehas been a mentor to many arts and communityworkers and is frequently asked to speak to the media and at conferences. She likes to swim, walk and read.
