Susan Schneider
Susan joined Virgin Australia in 2012 and was appointed to the role of Chief Legal & Risk Officer and Company Secretary in March 2021. As a part of this role Susan oversees the Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Audit, Risk and Company Secretary functions for the Virgin Australia Group. Susan is known for being trusted by her team and executive, diligent in achieving outcomes and connected to organisational culture. She is one of only two executives who steered the Virgin Australia Group through voluntary administration and a successful sale of the business to Bain Capital as well as the current transformation program and return to profitability. Susan has more than 19 years of legal, risk and commercial experience in Australia and overseas. Prior to joining Virgin Australia, Susan worked in the London office of international law firm Clifford Chance and in the Brisbane office of McCullough Robertson, advising on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and corporations law. Susan has graduated the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course and was awarded Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Lawyer of the Year at the Lawyers Weekly Corporate Counsel Awards in 2020. Susan lives in Brisbane with her husband and 3 sons who are 12, 9 and 7.
