Tania Archibald

Tania was appointed the Group Chief Financial Officer of BlueScope Steel in March 2018. BlueScope is an ASX top 100 company and is the largest global producer of coated and painted steel products in the building and construction sector with more than 100 facilities across 17 countries including Australia. Tania has primary responsibility for finance, treasury, taxation, investor relations, investments, audit, insurance, information systems and supply chain functions. Prior to her current role Tania was Chief Financial Officer, BlueScope ANZ and BlueScope Coated Products, a global product and strategy role that saw her appointed to the Executive Leadership Team. Tania joined BHP Steel, later to become BlueScope Steel, as an auditor in 1996 from Arthur Andersen and was promoted through increasingly senior finance roles to become the company's first female CFO. Tania holds a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australia. As an active force in establishing and rolling out the diversity program at BlueScope Steel, Tania is working to promote and demonstrate the business case for diversity, mentoring emerging female leaders, changing recruitment practices and championing investment in upgrading site facilities that were designed for an all-male workforce.
