Taryn Brumfitt is an award-winning filmmaker, bestselling author, and sought-after keynote speaker. Named Australian of the Year in 2023, she is a passionate advocate for social change, reaching over 200 million people globally. Taryn is the co-executive Director of The Embrace Collective, founder of the Body Image Movement, director of the EMBRACE and EMBRACE KIDS films, and author of five books. Her mission to help people embrace their bodies has earned recognition from UN Women, Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls, and the Geena Davis Institute. Taryn has shared her message worldwide, from remote Australian communities to the White House, and has delivered over 250 keynotes, including at the National Press Club, SXSW, and Harvard University. Her talk at Google HQ in Silicon Valley was live-streamed to Google offices globally. In 2024, Taryn received an Honorary Doctorate from Flinders University for her impactful and unwavering commitment as a body image advocate. In 2018, she was named in the Australian Financial Review 100 Women of Influence, received the SA Award for Excellence in Women's Leadership, and was crowned EY Entrepreneur of the Year, South Australia.
