Professor Tracey O’Brien AM is the NSW Chief Cancer Officer and CEO of the Cancer Institute NSW. Professor O'Brien is a haematologist, oncologist, and cellular therapy expert with over 25 years of experience. She is renowned for her ability to skilfully connect clinical practice, research, government, and policy at the highest levels. Tracey’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping cancer control strategies both nationally and internationally. Known for fostering diverse, high-performing teams, Tracey drives strategic collaborations that deliver research-led, multidisciplinary solutions across the cancer continuum. An inclusive mentor and passionate advocate, she is a powerful voice for improving cancer outcomes and raising public awareness, empowering meaningful progress in cancer care for all communities. In addition to her medical training, Tracey has a Master of Law and Master of Business Administration and is a Conjoint Professor, Clinical Medicine at UNSW and Honorary Professor at the School of Computing, Science & Engineering, Macquarie University and the School of Medicine, Western Sydney University.
