Yasmina Elshafei

Yasmina Elshafei

Yasmina is a Managing Director and Head of Carbon at CBA. She was previously an Executive Director at climate change advisory and investment firm, Pollination Group, based in Sydney. Prior to Pollination she was a Senior Vice President at leading international infrastructure and green energy player, Macquarie Capital, spending over a decade based across their global offices in Sydney, New York, London, Dubai and Mexico City. She has extensive experience leading and executing a range of transactions designed to achieve national and corporate growth, adaptation and resilience strategies whilst working with major corporations, investors, government organisations, NGOs, philanthropies and project developers in international markets. At Pollination Group, her focus is on designing and implementing strategies that enable corporates to transition to a net zero, nature-positive state, and working with governments to help them achieve NDC targets by transitioning their energy sector and accessing climate and carbon finance to conserve their natural resources. At Macquarie Capital she led transactions designed to facilitate private sector investment into the nation building goals of emerging and developed economies, to improve the coverage and quality of infrastructure and facilitate their transition to a greener economy. Her areas of expertise encompass principal investment and divestment, capital raising, project financing, blended finance, project development and strategy. Yasmina has a PhD in Environmental Science from the University of Western Australia focused on the sustainable management of natural resources in agricultural catchments, which received international recognition for its innovativeness and contribution to the sustainable water management field. She is passionate about sustainability and conservation. She speaks English, Arabic, French and Spanish.
