The Wharton School – Executive Development Program


CEW is offering two scholarships for senior woman leaders to attend the Executive Development Program at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 2017. The Wharton School is recognised globally for intellectual leadership and ongoing innovation across every major discipline of business education.

About the program

In today’s complex, fast-paced, competitive environment, executives must be adept at moving quickly out of their comfort zones to build new capabilities. The Wharton Executive Development Program is designed to increase the business skills and leadership capabilities of managers who lead key parts of the business and form the pool of future top leadership of the organisation. It uses a multidimensional approach of lectures, small/large group discussion, case study, role playing, campus networking opportunities, and a strategy simulation to provide new insights and give you opportunities to apply them. 10–22 September 2017

Inclusions and obligations

The scholarship includes course fees, return economy class flights, accommodation, and most meals. Applicants must commit to attending the course on the dates specified. The successful applicant must provide a report about her scholarship experience, and may also be required to speak at CEW events.

Who should apply?

We are seeking women who now lead key parts of their organisation and aspire to top leadership positions. The Program is aimed at functional, country, or unit managers preparing to take on broader responsibilities that require leading outside their areas of education or experience. To be eligible to apply, you must meet the minimum selection criteria:

  • Senior executive (i.e. above the Australian head or equivalent level in the organisation e.g. Global or Regional lead; CEO, or no more than 3 levels down from CEO)
  • 6 or more years experience managing teams of 5 or more people, including managers
  • 5 or more years general management experience (i.e. business unit, line or functional management incorporating key responsibilities such as P&L management, strategic planning and personnel performance management)
  • Australian citizen or resident
