Kate Gilmore

Kate has dedicated her career to advocating for human rights and courageously speaking out on issues that disproportionately impact on women and girls such as sexual violence and sexual health.

A former United Nations (UN) Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights, Kate is now an Honorary Professor with the Human Rights Centre at the University of Essex as well as a Professor-in-Practice with the International Development Department of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Kate is also Chair of the Board of International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), Vice Chair of the Interpeace Board and a member of WHO’s Gender and Human Rights Advisory Panel on Human Reproduction and of their Immunization Agenda 2030 Partnership Panel.
