CEW Leaders Program

An opportunity to grow personally and professionally

Designed and delivered by CEW members, the CEW Leaders Program encourages women to explore their leadership aspirations and to take on more senior leadership roles with confidence alongside their male colleagues for the benefit of the organisation, shareholders and the community.

The program is in its thirteenth year and on average, 190 women from over 40 organisations participate in the program each year. There are over 1,200 program alumni.

Six programs are offered per year, three in Semester One in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth and three in Semester Two in Sydney, Brisbane and Singapore. Each Program comprises a full seven days delivered over three blocks approximately six weeks apart; three days, followed by two days and a final two days.

The content is structured around the personal audit. Topics include themes of power, status and communication; personal leadership styles; the leadership shadow; the power of relationships; career options; and leading in a digital world.

Executives – both women and men – are invited to speak on these topics and participants explore these issues in workshops.

Participation by Chief Executive Women members and other senior executives both men and women is acknowledged as one of the key benefits of the program. The structure of the program is challenging, but allows participants raise issues in a collegiate and supportive environment.

Organisations that have continued to enrol women in the program include Allens, ASX, AMP, ANZ, Australian Army, BoQ, CBRE, KPMG, Lendlease, Macquarie, QBE, Tabcorp, University of Sydney, Vicinity Centres, Sport NSW.

“This was one of the most holistic and beneficial leadership programs I have been on. The operation and set up of the program is exceptional… it is extremely well thought out and really flows well together. You get to the end and see how it all fits together – but you need to get there to see it.” — Semester One 2018 participant

“I think that CEW has done a fantastic job in putting together a program exclusively for women. It is unique, designed for longevity and has high impact.” — Semester One 2018 participant
